Teleca Strengthens its Role as Strategic Partner to Kyocera Wireless
At its recent yearly business review, Kyocera Wireless expressed how delighted it was to have Teleca as a strategic partner.
Since acquiring Qualcomm’s handset division in February 2000, Kyocera Wireless has been producing mobile devices for wireless networks in North and South America, India, Australia, New Zealand and other global markets. The company has worked together with Teleca since 2004.
“We started back in 2004 with a small pilot project and team of 10 engineers. That initiative came from Kyocera Wireless, which was looking for potential outsourcing channels in Russia,” said Andrey Ponomarev, Director of KWC Delivery division of Teleca Russia Group.
Today we have an extremely strong relationship with Kyocera Wireless and our engineers are heavily integrated into their processes. That original team of 10 engineers has turned into more than 300, with 40 new engineers joining the team just since May.
“We provide support across the whole spectrum, including planning and development of new features, integrating components, testing, maintenance and customization for different carriers,” said Andrey, who rightly sounds very proud of the performance of his team.
Teleca is very strong on User Interface (UI) development and our engineers helped Kyocera by developing a lot of UI features for its 2008 products. But the support does not end there.
“We now assist Kyocera in much more than UI,” said Andrey. “We produce and test software and integrate peripherals such as cameras, video players and music players. The work is challenging and exciting. We deliver high-quality products and take great pride in the faith that Kyocera Wireless has shown in allowing us to significantly grow our team over the past four years.”
Extremely productive
Teleca has been recognized by Kyocera Wireless for its productive, qualified and dedicated team.
“Kyocera Wireless is very pleased with the services and support we are getting from Teleca,” said M. Fathi Hakam, Director of Software Engineering at Kyocera Wireless Corp. “During the past four years, Teleca has successfully completed more than 50 projects in software development and testing. The team has proven that it is very capable and professional and that we can depend on them for on-time delivery with excellent quality. Looking back four years to that team of 10 engineers, I am very impressed by Teleca’s ability to ramp up its service and deliver a team today that is 300 strong and growing.”
The future together with Kyocera Wireless looks very exciting. We hope to strengthen and develop our partnership especially in the areas of software development and testing.
“Of course we will continue do our best to exceed Kyocera’s expectations and foster this excellent relationship to help Kyocera’s business become even more successful,” concludes Andrey.
